Harney and Sons Fine Teas pairs with SoCo Creamery to launch a trio of gourmet flavors

For those of us reluctant to kiss our favorite hot beverages goodbye for the summer, there is hope: Harney and Sons Fine Teas, based in Salisbury, Connecticut, and SoCo Creamery, of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, have joined forces to create a trio of scrumptious new ice cream flavors: Earl Grey, Chai Spice, and Green Tea.

Each of the three tea-infused specialties reflects the taste and aroma of its hot beverage counterpart. The subtle Green Tea, made with Japanese Matcha, is both refreshing and sweet; Earl Grey tastes like a cool, creamy version of the traditional black tea and lemony bergamot combination; and Chai unites freshly ground cardamom and other Indian spices, yielding a pleasant mélange of cream and spice reminiscent of eggnog. The silky texture and remarkably accurate tea flavors of these new ice creams make them elegant, warm-weather concoctions. [AUGUST 2009]
