The Lee, Mass., bed and breakfast wins a saucy award

Who knew that Lee, Massachusetts, is one of the more romantic places to cozy up in? BedandBreakfast.com, in concert with National Geographic Traveler, recently selected Devonfield Inn [“Accidental Tourists” by Chris Newbound, October 2006] as an editor’s pick for “Valentine’s Day and Beyond, for value and celebrating romance.”

And they’re not the only ones who think so: proprietors Bruce and Ronnie Singer can also boast about winning the title of Most Romantic Inn 2009, one of four awards voted on by New England readers of illustrious travel writer Karen Brown.

“Romance is always in the air here,” Ronnie Singer says. “It’s in the wood-burning fireplaces, the music, the flowers, and the candlelight. It’s who we are, and we are delighted to have Devonfield recognized as the place to take someone you love." (JUNE 2009)
