In Case You Haven't Heard...

Considering how our Berkshire Living offices are within spitting distance of the new Beacon Cinema on North Street in Pittsfield, I figured I'd take the opportunity to jump on the buzz bandwagon before the backlash-to-the-backlash hits Berkshirites square in the face. 

I mean, really: tonight's grand unveiling of the six stadium-seat screening rooms--at midnight with the unfortunate (for filmgoers with taste) though anticipated (by just about everyone else) The Twilight Saga: New Moon--has been the hot topic of discussion for months. Finally, the public gets to see what all the fuss is about!

Here's my view of the Beacon, from the rear, as I see it each and every morning as I trek from the McKay Street parking lot into work. The simple gold lettering over the site's old, distressed-brick facade (check out those signage ghost lines!) so perfectly sums up the allure of the new North Street behemoth, that of the past blurring into the future.
