Maple Sugaring: The Rest of the Story
(Great Barrington, Mass.) – In a few weeks the sap will begin to flow, and farmers and hobbyists throughout the region will begin tapping their trees to collect nature’s organic sweetness in the form of maple sugar. Marking this annual ritual, representatives from Ioka Valley Farm in Hancock, Mass., will be on hand to discuss maple sugaring and agro-tourism in “Sap Happy!,” part of Berkshire Living’s award-winning Rest of the Story series of free public forums, on Sunday, January 31, at 11 a.m., at the Triplex Cinema in Great Barrington. An outgrowth of the story “Sap Happy!” in the January-February issue, the event will be moderated by editor-in-chief Seth Rogovoy and will include free samples and a question-and-answer session.
Each month, Berkshire Living, a regional lifestyle and culture magazine, and the Triplex join forces to present “The Rest of the Story,” free public forums based on an article running in the concurrent issue of the magazine. The series has won several awards for Community Service from the National City and Regional Magazine Association.
