Farm Chic

When browsing through bunches of fresh kale or selecting ears of sweet corn at a local farmer’s market, or picking produce at a nearby CSA, we want to look fabulous—and the best way to take any outfit from simple to sensational is to add the perfect accessories.

Fans of Berkshire Grown can do just that at Farm Chic, a jewelry and accessories sale on Sunday, February 28. Treasures from hand-crafted scarves and handbags to jewelry will be offered by local artisans, and a collection of vintage and gently used jewels, pocketbooks, and accessories are available as well, at ridiculously good prices.

Proceeds benefit Berkshire Grown, and will be used to underwrite the annual Farm to Table directory that links local farmers and area chefs.

Farm Chic will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Allium, 42/44 Railroad Street, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

Dai Ban, the noted sculptor and jeweler from Great Barrington, has created a Berkshire Grown-inspired sterling silver charm, the first in a series he plans as a long-term fundraiser for the organization. In addition to selling his newly fashioned charm, Ban will be selling his jewelry along with fellow jewelers Lisa Anderson, Stephanie Iverson, Saskia Larraz, and Stephanie Gravalese. George Reeves will be selling his leather goods. Handbags will be available from Lesley Ann Beck (yes, that’s me, with my funky appliquéd purses!) and Lynette Cornwell. Crispina ffrench, Sonya Mackintosh (SMartWorks), and Christine Koldys will sell their scarves and shawls. Liz Olney and GeGe Kingston will sell jewelry and accessories.

Chef Michael Pancheri of Allium will provide refreshments for Farm Chic shoppers.

Allium will also be open for business, serving their Sunday brunch in the bar room from
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Allium is a member of Berkshire Grown and its brunch menu features locally grown and seasonal fare.
